BURNABY (NEWS1130) – One man remains in hospital with serious injuries following a knife fight in Burnaby near Metrotown, a little after midnight.
Staff Sergeant, Rob Lemon, says they aren’t sure what sparked the confrontation between the two men – the second man was in hospital but then released. “Don’t know about a motive or anything like that, obviously our investigators are still trying to determine that and come up with a reason as to what happened and why.”
Mounties are looking for witnesses to help them piece together what happened.
Meanwhile, Surrey RCMP are investigating a series of stabbings on Anvil Way outside a restaurant west of the King George Highway.
It appears six men were involved in the melee. Four of them were stabbed, one of them in the neck. Police still aren’t sure what sparked the fight and are going through footage from nearby video surveillance cameras.
Police say they are interviewing several witnesses as well as the victims, but aren’t saying if this was a random attack. One man has been arrested.
