White Christmas very unlikely this year

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) If you’re dreaming of a white Christmas this year … keep dreaming. With one week to go to the big day, News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate is pretty confident we’ll have a green Christmas, “The weather maker for most of next week will be a huge high pressure ridge over the coast, so the holiday is not going to be stormy, probably not even wet, something like a mix of cloud and sunny breaks, making for a green Christmas this year.

Here’s an interesting statistic – according to Environment Canada, there is only a four percent chance that we’ll have snow on the ground and in the air on Christmas Day.
