Poll: We prefer to serve ourselves

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Help yourself… it’s an option Canadians love as the Christmas crowds build at the malls.
A new survey on self-serve machines shows we like the flexibility, speed and convenience. Sixty-three per cent of respondents in a poll for NCR, which makes kiosks and ATM’s, say they’re more likely to do business with companies that provide service online or through kiosks.
This self-server says he does almost everything online or at kiosks but he does prefer the human touch, “I prefer the people.. I always have to always talk to the people anyway, the machines never work out. At least I can argue with a human, I can’t argue with a machine. I can yell at a machine but I can’t argue with it.”
Other respondents to the poll say they’d like to see self serve expanded to areas like healthcare to help with long lineups at hospitals and doctors offices.
