SASKATOON (NEWS1130) – Canada will go for a sixth straight gold medal at the World Junior Hockey Championships after a 6-1 victory over Switzerland in the semi-finals. Taylor Hall scored a pair of goals, Jordan Eberle, Marco Scandella, Brayden Schenn, and Stefan Della-Rovere also found the back of the net. Delta’s Brandon McMillan had 2 assists for the red and white.

Defenceman Travis Hamonic was hit from behind by a Swiss player late in the third period and left the ice favoring his left arm. Reports say he has a separated shoulder and won’t play in the gold medal game.

Canada will play in its ninth straight final against the US on Tuesday. The Americans knocked off Sweden 5-2 in the other semi-final.
