Andrew Koenig’s body discovered in Stanley Park

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The body of missing actor Andrew Koenig was found in Stanley Park Thursday. Friends and family of the 41-year old actor found the body off a trail.
His father, Walter Koenig, who played Pavel Chekov on Star Trek, spoke tearfully at a press conference held by the VPD and family at 5 p.m. “My son took his own life.” However, at this time police and family won’t say exactly how the actor died.
Andrew Koenig was last seen on Valentines Day, and was due to fly out of the city two days later but never showed up for his flight. Andrew Koenig played ‘Boner’ on the 80’s TV show ‘Growing Pains’ and lived in Vancouver for a while after the show wrapped up. Friends say he had been depressed.
His family had concentrated their search for him in Stanley Park because it was his favourite place in Vancouver.
