BELLINGHAM (NEWS110) – The Apple iPad hit stores in the States today. People lined up early at the two stores selling iPads in Bellingham, and they sold out right away. Apple retailer, T.D. Curran, had about 30 iPads and about 40 customers at the door and over half the people in line were actually Canadians.
Assistant Manager, Jeff Talbot, was busy showing everyone the iPad even though they sold out right away. “We have three floor models here and people that weren’t been able to get their hands on either pre-sale or day of sale, walk in and have been really excited to get a feel for them. There’s a full 9.7-inch touch screen and people are just blown away by how it really feels when you get it in front of you.”
So how do most people react when they hold the iPad for the first time? “A lot of people were fairly intrigued and spent about 10 minutes looking at it and then walked away mind blown, big eyed, and just can’t stop talking about the user experience.”
Many people stopped by just to check the iPad out. “It’s amazing I mean they always talking about it being revolutionary and a break through and it is, I’m very impressed.” Most people say they like the photo capabilities and portability.
In Canada we aren’t going to have to wait that much longer. The iPad is going to be available to us later this month.
