Fourth anniversary of BC Place roof collapse

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The roof project at BC Place Stadium is about to hit a major milestone. It’s the fourth anniversary of the roof collapse. This weekend, the last of the 36 steel masts supporting the new retractable roof will be erected.

Once it’s up, Warren Buckley with Pavco says the downtown skyline will see more dramatic changes. “[We will] initiate all the cabling structure and then the fabric comes on the roof. Then, we work toward the final completion date in the fall of this year.”

He says the inside of the stadium is gutted, but the $563 million project is on-time and on-budget.
