Canucks with one more practice before Game 1

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks practised this morning as they get ready for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup playoffs.  They’ll welcome the Chicago Blackhawks Wednesday night at Rogers Arena.

Veteran right-winger Mikael Samuelsson returned to practise today and returned to the second line with Ryan Kesler and Chris Higgins.  Coach Alain Vigneault had said that Samuelsson was “not feeling well” Monday.

Forwards Victor Oreskovich and Cody Hodgson skated with the team again today.  Oreskovich is a good bet to skate on the fourth line alongside centre Max Lapierre and left-winger Tanner Glass.

Hodgson practiced again today on Vancouver’s third unit between Mason Raymond and Jannik Hansen.

The third-line vacancy was created by the four-game suspension to Raffi Torres, who has two games remaining and won’t return until the series moves to Chicago on Sunday.

Meantime, Blackhawks head coach Joel Quenneville said both Daved Bolland (concussion) and Troy Brouwer (shoulder) made the trip to Vancouver and he was optimistic they might play.

Bolland, a centre who is one of Chicago’s most versatile players and vital on the checking line, missed the final 14 games.

Brouwer, who is a Delta native, hurt his shoulder last week in Montreal against the Canadiens.
