Bad gas closes Surrey station

By

SURREY (NEWS1130) – Concerns over bad gas have forced a Surrey station to close its pumps.

Four cars stalled and had to be serviced after attendants at the Fleetwood gas station on Fraser Highway and 158 St. discovered water in the gas sometime after 4 p.m. today.

The station’s manager, Rana Khalik, says the station’s fuel delivery company is to blame.

“The load came in and the load was just… having water, or some mixup with the gas, so who knows what happened there,” he says.

Khalik says three of the four cars had to be towed and pumped out off site, and all the drivers will be fully compensated.

“We just sent them to Honda and they took out the gas and everything from there,” he says. “They’re fixing it.”

The gas station will reopen when the problem is resolved.
