High police presence to be at Jonathan Bacon’s funeral

By

LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – The funeral for gangster Jonathan Bacon will not be a small, quiet affair. The police gang task force will make sure of that.

The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit tells the Province newspaper there will be a significant police presence to “allow the family to grieve and prevent any sort of violence.”

Details of where and when the Bacon funeral will be held are still unknown but there will be uniformed and plain-clothes officers present, pictures being taken and identities being noted. Police aren’t ruling out arrests or attempts to keep rival gangsters away.

We are also learning more about Bacon’s younger years; people who knew him in high school say he wasn’t a bully or thug. They describe him as a mild-mannered, a nice kid and an athlete with lots of friends. Two acquaintances who don’t want to be named say they couldn’t have predicted Bacon would become one of the leaders of the Red Scorpions and end up getting killed in a shooting this past weekend that also left five other people hurt.

There are reports one of the two women who were shot may have been left a quadriplegic after having a bullet removed from her neck.
