‘Project Prada’: Surrey police seize over $6M in suspected counterfeit goods

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) says it has seized millions of dollars’ worth of suspected counterfeit sports jerseys, clothing, baggage, jewelry, and other items, following a yearlong investigation it has dubbed “Project Prada.”
The total value of the seized goods is around $6.6 million, which police say represents lost retail sales for those who sell the authentic products.
One person has been arrested as a result of the investigation, the SPS says.
“In June 2025, SPS’s Prolific Offender Unit (POU) received information from the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN) regarding possible counterfeit clothing and goods for sale in Surrey and initiated an investigation involving a person of interest,” the SPS said.
“Over the course of the past year, POU Investigators gathered evidence of the sale of suspected counterfeit clothing and other goods associated with a residence in Surrey associated with the person of interest.”
Detectives obtained and executed a search warrant June 17, leading to the arrest of one man.
The SPS says the suspected counterfeit items that were seized include:
- 19 Rolex watches;
- 536 Adidas jerseys (Soccer, NBA, and NHL);
- 1758 Nike jerseys (Soccer, NFL, NBA, and MLB);
- 131 CCM NHL jerseys;
- 375 Mitchell & Ness jerseys and caps (NBA, NFL, MLB);
- 28 pieces of Hermes jewelry and footwear;
- 203 pieces of Louis Vuitton clothing and handbags;
- 673 pieces of Gucci bags and footwear;
- 340 pieces of Christian Dior clothing, bags, jewelry, and footwear;
- 117 pieces and Burberry clothing;
- 120 pieces of Bathing Ape clothing; and
- 85 Cartier watches, sunglasses, and jewelry.
The suspect has been released from custody, and an investigation is ongoing, police say.
