VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There’s a power outage in two wings of the Shaughnessy building at BC Children’s and Women’s Hospital in Vancouver.
Three outpatient clinics at Children’s Hospital are affected; one is affected at Women’s Hospital.
Patrick Blennerhassett with the Provincial Health Services Authority says the power went out around 8 a.m. and they don’t know when it’ll be restored.
“This is not a BC Hydro power situation. There is full power to the site. This is an electrical system situation. Facility staff are working to fix the problem and restore power to the affected area,” he explains.
The ER and maternity ward are open, but all appointments at the opthamology clinic are cancelled for the day.
