Update 6:55 a.m.: Antonieta Maria has been found. She is safe.
VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Vancouver Police are asking for the public’s help to locate a missing elderly woman with dementia who was last seen at 1:30 p.m. yesterday at her home in the area of East 29th Avenue and Earles.
Antonieta Garcia Maria is 84 years old, 5’0” tall, 115 lbs., with short white hair and brown eyes. When last seen, Antonieta was wearing a black knee length coat, dark pants, black shoes and carrying a large brown bag.
Police and family are concerned for her well-being. Antonieta is unable to speak and because of her dementia, she is easily confused and police do not believe she will be able to find her way home.
Antonieta is a transit user and is also known to frequent both Brentwood and Metrotown shopping malls.
All searches around her home, public transit checks, other Metro Vancouver police agencies, taxi companies, and local hospitals, have failed to turn up any sign of Mrs. Maria.
The Vancouver Police are asking anyone who sees Antonieta Maria to call 911, and wait with her until officers arrive.
