VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions have re-signed star kick returner Tim Brown to a new contract extension.
The Stockton, California native will enter his third season with the Lions in 2013 after being named to the 2012 CFL West Division All-Star team, following a year in which he finishing second in CFL punt return yards (914) and third in kick-off return yards (1303).
“Tim has been one of our most consistent players over the past two seasons,” says Wally Buono, says GM and VP of football operations.
Brown has established himself as one of the most electric running backs in the league since joining the Lions in 2011, after starring in the Indoor Football League, winning back-to-back championships with the Billings Outlaws. The Temple University product led the club in kick returns in his 2011 rookie season despite missing three games due to injury.
Brown has led the CFL West Division in all-purpose yards in each of the last two seasons. Only two other players have accomplished the feat in Lions history.
