Make turkey leftovers more exciting!

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Many of us will be enjoying a traditional turkey dinner this Christmas, but how can you make the leftovers a little more exciting?
The possibilities are limitless!
Michel Benoit with The Turkey Growers of BC says there is a lot more you can do with the meat, rather than just make a sandwich. “It goes really great in curry, it goes really good in a Mexican burrito, it goes great in lasagne’s. The possibilities are really wide open.”
Benoit says it’s great idea to freeze some so you can have even more turkey in January. “It’s a great food to warm you up on those cold days. Don’t be afraid to prepare your leftovers and put extra aside so you can have turkey again for yourselves in January.”
He reminds people to use a meat thermometer to make sure it’s cooked, that that will also keep the bird from drying out.
There are a lot of recipes that can include turkey meat.
