Division-leading Blazers visit the Giants

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants (10-27-0-0) welcome the BC Division leaders to town tonight when the Kamloops Blazers (26-10-2-2) visit the Coliseum. The Giants are coming off one of their best efforts of the season in beating Prince George 8-4 Sunday to hit the ten-win mark.

“The last game, we showed we can score goals and we’ve just got to do what we’ve been doing, getting people and pucks to the net and just really keep working. That’s how we’re win games by out working teams,” says Giants defenceman Wes Vannieuwenhuizen.

The Giants win over Prince George snapped a four-game losing skid, and has the team currently in 10th place in the Western Conference.

The Blazers beat Vancouver 9-5 on Saturday night in Kamloops, which ended the Kamloops’ four-game losing run. The Blazers are in a fight to keep top spot in the division, owning a two-point lead over second-place Kelowna and are 11-8-1-1 on the road this season.

This is the Giant’s last home game before hitting the road for a five-game Alberta road trip. Tonight’s start time has been rescheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
