Giants try for second win of three-game weekend

CALGARY, AB (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants will be playing their third game in three days as they visit the Calgary Hitmen this afternoon. The Giants won in Red Deer on Friday but lost in Edmonton last night.
The Giants (11-29-0) are 3-7-0 in their past 10 games, while the Hitmen (26-10-4) have gone 6-3-1 with two wins in a row.
Vancouver is sitting in last place in the WHL standings with just 22 points. The Giants are trying to gain ground on the Prince George Cougars, who have a seven-point cushion.
The Hitmen are second in the Central Division, trailing the Edmonton Oil Kings by just three points. Calgary is also second overall in the Eastern Conference.
Following this afternoon’s game, the Giants will visit the Medicine Hat Tigers on Tuesday and then will wrap-up their trip on Wednesday against the Lethbridge Hurricanes.
