Giants return home from tough road trip

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants are coming off a five-game road trip through Alberta, which saw them lose the final four. They’ll host the Kelowna Rockets tonight, a team which has won eight games in a row.
The Giants began their trip with a 5-4 victory over the Red Deer Rebels on Jan. 2, but followed it up with losses to Edmonton, Calgary, Medicine Hat and most recently Lethbridge.
The Rockets have been red-hot of late as they’ve gone 9-1-0 in their past 10 games, which has shot them up the standings in to first-place in the B.C. Division and a tie for second overall.
The teams will be meeting for the third time this season, with Kelowna having won both of their other contests. The Rockets earned a convincing 7-0 victory at home on Oct. 3, and then won 5-3 in Vancouver on Dec. 28.
Kelowna is led offensively by winger Myles Bell. In 43 games this season, Bell has scored 27 goals and added 33 assists. His 60 points is the fourth-highest total in the WHL.
