RICHMOND (NEWS1130) – The man accused of shooting up a banquet hall in Richmond on Wednesday night has now been formally charged. Sukhdeep Sandhu was in court this morning.
The 26-year-old is facing three counts of attempted murder and one of aggravated assault.
“He has been remanded over in custody until January 24th for a bail hearing,” says Crown Counsel’s Neil MacKenzie. “There’s really not more that I’m able to add at this point. Obviously, the matter is still before the court.”
Four men were shot during a ceremony for the Longshoremen’s Union. Yesterday, all the victims were upgraded to stable condition.
There were roughly 150 people at the Riverside Banquet Hall when shots rang out. Mounties have not said whether the shooting was gang-related.
