WASHINGTON D.C. (NEWS1130) – It will be a weekend of inaugural events in Washington, D.C., as President Barack Obama takes the oath of office for his second and final term.
Obama will be officially sworn-in on Sunday just before noon, but the public event with all the pomp will take place Monday.
Vice President Joe Biden was officially sworn in early Sunday morning at a private ceremony at the U.S. Naval Observatory.
He will also join Obama Monday in taking the oath of office during the public ceremony at the U.S. Capitol.
At the public-swearing in for Obama, he will put his hand on bibles once used by Abraham Lincoln and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., in front of thousands of adoring Americans.
There will also be a parade and two inaugural balls featuring some major star power.
At Obama’s first inauguration nearly 2-million people showed up.
President Obama is starting his second term with an approval rating of 55 per cent, the highest since 2009.
