Two candidates pull out of Boundary-Similkameen riding

OKANAGAN (NEWS1130) – There’s more political upheaval in the south Okanagan riding of Boundary-Similkameen, where John Slater was turfed as the Liberal candidate earlier this month.

He was going to run as an independent in the May election, but announced today he won’t be running at all, and took a swipe at the Liberals for what he called “the politics of personal destruction”.

Within an hour of his announcement, his NDP rival in the riding, Marji Basso, also announced she was dropping out as a candidate.

She cited personal reasons for her decision.
