Adrian Dix back on BC soil after a trip to LA

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – NDP leader Adrian Dix is back from Los Angeles where he was meeting studio executives and producers about BC’s struggling film industry.
Dix met with executives at Warner Bros., Disney, and 20th Century Fox.
Dix says the meetings were a way for him to see what challenges Hollywood is facing these days.
It’s no secret that Ontario and Quebec is offering the film industry better tax credits than BC.
He says he wouldn’t rule out offering more tax credits if the NDP forms the next government, but he was short on specifics about any approach his government would take. “One of the things I try to be is serious and methodical. I have learned a lot over the last few months as we prepare our response.”
Dix says the current government is asleep at the switch and not doing enough to include the movie industry in the jobs plan.
