Two deadly accidents on Lower Mainland roads

COQUITLAM (NEWS1130) – Two deadly accidents in the Lower Mainland today.
A man is dead after he crashed into a middle barrier on 188th at 28th avenue in Surrey just before noon says St. Joe Johal with Surrey RCMP.
“They (fire fighters) found a male who was in a cardiac arrest at the time. They started working on him and called paramedics, and paramedics and us (RCMP) attended. After working on him for a few minutes, they pronounced him dead on the scene,” says Johal.
“According to paramedics, this guy went through an intersection and then hit a concrete median, and appears that he might have medical distress prior to hitting the median.”
He says investigators will be on site for hours “trying to sort out exactly what happened.”
In Coquitlam, an elderly female pedestrian was hit and killed just after noon today at Austin Avenue and Marmont Street. 
The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.
