Schneider shines in first start since January 27

SAINT PAUL, MN (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks won their fourth straight game, with a 4-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.
Cory Schneider made 22 saves, while Mason Raymond had a goal and an assist at the end of the second period for Vancouver.
Daniel Sedin and Chris Higgins scored five minutes apart midway through the opening period. It was the first of the season for Higgins.
The Wild applied plenty of pressure in the middle period. Cory Schneider made his presence felt in the frame as Vancouver’s number one goalie stopped a dozen Minnesota shots.
At the end of the second, Raymond bagged his fourth of the campaign on the power play. Ninety-five seconds later, he sprung Jannik Hansen on a break away. The Dane scored on Niklas Backstrom to give the Canucks a 4-0 lead after 40 minutes.
Backstrom was replaced by Josh Harding in the third period.
The Wild’s only goal came from a wide open Tom Gilbert on the power play seven-and-a-half minutes into the final period.
Vancouver’s Dale Weise fought with the Wild’s Zenon Konopka in the first and third periods.
The Canucks are home to Calgary on Saturday night at Rogers Arena.
