PORT MOODY (NEWS1130) – Construction of the Evergreen Line in the Tri-Cities is picking up the pace and that also means concerns from neighbours.
Port Moody Mayor Mike Clay says project managers are holding regular meetings with locals to ensure everyone is happy. “They have options for different landscaping, noise barriers, tree planting, maybe modifying the landscape around the rail. It looks very positive, they’re trying to work in a positive direction. I am satisfied that they are at least trying to satisfy everyone right now.”
“The residents have a committment from us as the city council that we will work with them if they’re not satisfied with the Evergreen Line. Right now, they’re dealing with the Evergreen Line and we think there is progess to be made there,” he adds.
Residents have expressed concerns over traffic delays, noise, and the re-planting of trees.
