NORTH VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Search crews are becoming increasingly concerned for an elderly woman with dementia that’s gone missing in North Vancouver.
Tim Jones with North Shore Rescue says they spent hours battling freezing temperatures while searching last night and are back at it today. “We’re going to point last seen again and working out. We had an expanding area of search last night and we’re going to start over again in the general area of the Lynn Valley.”
Seventy-six-year-old Joan Warren was last seen at her seniors home in North Vancouver Friday morning.
Jones says they’re getting help with the search. “The family was with us last night, they were actively searching for her. A number of residents in the general area were also out helping us, it was a fantastic support. Anybody that does have time today to search that area, the upper Lynn Valley area, the Lynn Valley Canyon.”
She is described as Caucasian, 5’ 8 tall, slim build, grey hair. She is wearing a turquoise jacket and black pants.
If you see Joan Warren or know of her whereabouts you are asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 or call 9-1-1.
