Young boy crashes through ice, into pond

MISSION (NEWS1130) – A three-year-old child nearly drowned this morning after falling through the ice into a pond in Mission.
The young boy was playing with his dog when they both fell into the pond on Johnson Street.
His mother managed to get him out quickly.
The boy was unconscious for a short time but is expected to be okay. The dog unfortunately didn’t survive.
Mission RCMP are reminding the public to be careful around open or frozen bodies of water.
