Small plane missing near Vancouver Island

TOFINO (NEWS1130) – Crews will continue searching for a small aircraft that disappeared in stormy weather around Vancouver Island yesterday.

There were two people on board.

The plane left Abbotsford and was heading to Tofino.

It was last seen over Vargas Island, which is just north of Tofino.

Police and and the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre are conducting the search.
