LOWER MAINLAND (NEWS1130) – This morning’s commute has been a slippery, icy and nasty one; so when will the road conditions get back to normal?
“I think the snow really tapers off smartly during the early stages of the afternoon,” says News1130 Meteorologist Russ Lacate. “A thin wedge of Maritime air comes ashore, the temperature climbs above freezing and some patchy drizzle will be mixing in.”
“But really, this time, the snow is not going down the drain with the rain because actually, all precipitation will taper off through mid-afternoon. We’re going to be left with a chilly, cloudy stretch for the end of the day and this evening. A low of minus-1 tonight means a risk of icy conditions will still be in our forecast,” he adds.
Looking towards the weekend, Russ tells us, “Tomorrow is a dry day; the snow will still be on the ground for you to head out and play in it.”
