BC users love technology and internet: study

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Could you go a day without the Internet? How about a week? A new report finds people in BC are madly in love with technology.
“The Rogers Innovation Report, conducted by Harris-Decima, found that BC residents are the most likely (66%) to forego either alcohol, sports, coffee, sex, their car, their pet or even their best friend in exchange for unlimited internet access,” it says in a release from Rogers, which is the parent company of News1130.
Director of Regional Marketing Neil Shuart says people are also predicting aps for your smartphone are about to get a lot more advanced.
“People would be able to use an app to read their mood, communicate with their pets or get diagnosed from their physician,” he says.
“BC users have an average of 26 apps on their smart phones and over 30 apps on the tablets. They’re using apps, they love their apps and they’re expecting more and more of them in the future. This is truly the device generation.”
Shuart says apps will likely evolve to the point where people use their phones as credit and debit cards. He says we could get to the point where people don’t carry wallets anymore.
