Giants tested in first game back from Christmas break

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Giants don’t get to ease back into the regular season after the Christmas break.
Waiting for them tonight at the Pacific Coliseum are the Kelowna Rockets. The Rockets are the CHL’s 2nd ranked team behind only the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League.
The Rockets have a record of 28-3-0-2, leading the the Western Hockey League. The Giants sit 19 points back in seventh.
Rockets goalie Jordon Cooke boasts an impressive .924 save-percentage in 24 games with a 2.21 Goals Against Average.
The Giants announced 19-year-old Trace Elson won’t be returning to the team. He decided to stay home in Alberta after the Christmas break.
He joined the Giants in November. Elson had 2 goals and 1 assist in 15 games.
