One person shot in Burnaby

BURNABY (NEWS1130) – RCMP say a shooting at the Burnaby Cactus Club appears to be a targeted attack.

A man in his early 30’s was shot just before 2 p.m. as he was sitting down for lunch. He was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“The restaurant had several patrons inside at the time of the shooting,” says Sgt Thiessen of the Lower Mainland District RCMP. “It is extremely fortunate that no innocent bystanders were injured.”

RCMP continue to search for a suspect.

Anyone who witnessed the shooting and hasn’t spoken with police is asked to call Burnaby RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 604-294-7922 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
