LG aims to make TV set-up simpler with webOS

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA (NEWS1130) – One of the things that’s always a challenge when you get a new TV is taking it home, setting it up and making it work right away.

LG is coming out with a system that is integrated with webOS to make it a lot simpler.

“webOS is our brand new smart TV platform that’s really designed to make the TV simple again,” says Kevin Andrews with LG. “[It’s] easy to set up, easy to connect, and easy to access all the great content that you love,” says Kevin Andrews, senior brand marketing manager with LG Canada.

“It’s very simple. In the time you set it up, there’s an animation to help you make sure you set your box up properly, connect all your devices… it connects you to the Internet through your existing WiFi network, and then gets you access to all that great content from Netflix, YouTube, and a host of other content providers very easily.”

Is LG bold enough to say that this platform is good for the entire spectrum of buyers?

“That’s really the crux of webOS is built for: to make TV simple again,” says Andrews.

“Canadian research showed us that consumers were overwhelmed by the number of options smart TVs offered. webOS is built to be simple; it’s built for that average user to be able to set that up and enjoy right out of the box.”
