What can we expect when the BC Leg returns next month?

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – Pipelines, liquor reform and ground water regulation; expect all of those topics to be under heavy debate when the provincial legislature is back in session in February.
OMNI TV Political Analyst Kim Emerson says Premier Christy Clark will be singing a familiar tune over growing jobs and the economy.
“The oil pipelines and liquefied natural gas are her ways of getting there. You’re not going to see those jobs materialize for a couple of years — maybe as many as five years. But that’s where she’s headed; that’s what she wants to do,” he explains.
“It will probably be a fairly acrimonious session as the NDP is still stinging from their loss and they’ll want to go at the government as hard as they can to show that they should have been government instead of being in opposition,” adds Emerson.
But he says we shouldn’t expect another investigation into BC Rail. “The NDP had promised [it] if they had become government. That will never happen now.”
There will also be changes around how convenient buying liquor is in BC and how that affects your family.
The Liberals have promised to make big companies pay for our groundwater but that’s expected to see some backlash, as many don’t believe the proposed fees are high enough.
