Pained, bruised expression says it all for Canucks fans

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – You can tell the Vancouver Canucks fans this morning by their pained expressions.

Many consider last night’s 9-1 loss to the Anaheim Ducks the low point of the season and it could be the first time verbose coach John Tortorella has been at a loss for words.

“I’m not even going to try to explain it. I’m not going to comment on any of that stuff,” he told reporters after his team’s obliteration

Goalie Eddie Lack, in net because Roberto Luongo injured, was pulled after three goals and rookie Joacim Erikssen then let in six more in his NHL debut.

There was no shortage of reaction from stunned fans on Twitter.

One pundit pointed out his Goals Against Average in the big league is 10.  Someone else simply posted a picture of a train wreck.

“I see the Canucks are down a set,” tweeted @kylebraid.

“Canucks lost NINE to one! Did they even start a goalie?! Bahaha!” Thanks @bigbadbruins88.

The official Canucks Twitter account wasn’t kind either.  “Ok. I’m out! … No score needed. Wasn’t pretty. On to the next one.”

Even children’s entertainer and noted Canucks fan Raffi got in on the action, tweeting that he had a better time listening to a dear friend play piano between periods.  Harsh words for Raffi.

The Canucks try to reverse their fortunes tonight against the Phoenix Coyotes.  Game time is 6 p.m.
