Heading to the Super Bowl isn’t cheap

By

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – It’s Super Bowl time and Metro Vancouver is home to a lot of Seahawks fans, but most people will be forced to catch it at a local bar.

Claire Newell with Travel Best Bets says an overnight flight is the cheapest option but it only gets you there a few hours before the festivities start. That round-trip has you flying out the next day but it’s only about $600.

A three star hotel for that one night will set you back at least $225, and that’s not even near the stadium or Manhattan.

To get into the game itself will cost a minimum of about $2500 per ticket, and that is for low-end seats.

Newell says that so far there doesn’t seem to be much interest. “I don’t think a lot of people have the money to spend on that but it is one of those things for a lot of people it’s [on their] bucket list. This would be the year to do it.”

If you are not worried about saving money and you want to stay a little longer, in a nicer hotel with better seats you can book a package with an American Travel company for just under $11,000.
