BC Ferries cancellations due to high winds

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – There have been several BC Ferries cancellations this morning due to high winds.

Deborah Marshall with BC Ferries admits they were a bit surprised. “We did have some wind warnings; we knew that the winds were going be strong this morning…. we were seeing winds gusting up to 45 knots; that was a little bit higher than we had expected,” she tells us.

Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay: The 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. sailings have been cancelled each way.
– The 11 a.m. sailings will go ahead

Horseshoe Bay – Departure Bay: The 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. sailings have been cancelled each way.
– BC Ferries hopes to resume service at 12:30 p.m., depending on the weather

Tsawwassen – Southern Gulf Islands: Service cancelled until this evening
