ABBOTSFORD (NEWS1130) – A major tourist attraction in Abbotsford has been seriously damaged by fire.

It happened at a barn at Maan Farms early this morning.

“On arrival, crews had a fully involved back half of the building [with] heavy flames coming out through the roof,” says Assistant Fire Chief Ron Hull, who adds the flames were shooting 20 metres into the air.

Hull tells us no one was seriously injured. “We’ve got one firefighter being checked, due to warm conditions. We’re just keeping an eye on our crews.”

“No animals were injured. They were in pens adjacent to the buildings,” he adds.

The building that was damaged included the winery, offices, and the main store. The entire top floor is gone.

So far, there’s no word on the cause of the fire.
