Ball python missing in Ladner

LADNER (NEWS 1130) – A snake is missing in Ladner. Delta Police say the six-foot long, eight-inch thick ball python went missing in a farmers field on June 30th and they don’t know where it is.

“Unfortunately, officers do not have an exact location where the snake was last seen – just that it was in a farmer’s field in Ladner,” says Cris Leykauf with Delta Police in a release.

The snake named Gypsy is caramel coloured and police say she will likely curl up when it’s scared or stressed. She will also prey on small animals, like rats, rabbits, or birds.

“Ball pythons are not venomous, and apparently are a popular choice for those wanting a pet snake, as they are known to have more of a docile temperament.”

Delta Police are hoping someone with sharp eyes will spot Gypsy and call them right away so they can pick it up.
