DELTA (NEWS 1130) — It turns out an agitated elderly woman that recently called police in Delta was just looking for some company.

She called to complain that her adult children couldn’t visit her, so an officer stopped by her house, and had tea with her.

Cris Leykauf with Delta Police says it warmed her heart when she read the report.

“I think our officers are often looking for those little moments where they get to connect with the community, whether it’s giving kids high-fives on the playground,” she says.

“Honestly, our officers never know what’s going to happen sometimes when they drive up, so in this case, finishing with a cup of tea was a really nice way to end this call.”

The officer notes that the woman was ‘merely expressing frustrations’, and described her as very pleasant to deal with.
