Sea to Sky Gondola reopens to all

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — You can once again check out the views high above Howe Sound.

The Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish reopened Thursday. It had been limited to passholders over the past week, but is now open to all.

The attraction will be running at reduced capacity to help with physical distancing, and will have extra sanitization.

It closed in March because of the pandemic, just a month after reopening.

The gondola had been closed for seven months after the 5.2-centimetre cable supporting it was deliberately cut along the upper third section in August, causing millions of dollars in damage as more than 20 cars crashed to the ground.
