Suspect charged with sexual assault fails to return to Surrey half-way house

VANCOUVER (NEWS 1130) — Vancouver police are asking for the public’s help in locating a charged suspect who failed to return to a half-way house.

Nicole Edwards, 33, was last seen on July 20 at the half-way house in Surrey she is required to stay at, according to VPD.

“She failed to abide by her court-ordered conditions and left the half-way house,” says a release from police.

Edwards is believed to be one of two people responsible in a violent sexual assault at Oppenheimer Park in April. She have been charged with nine more charges relating to sexual assault, assault, and confinement in the same case.

According to Vancouver police, the sexual assault victim was directed at gunpoint into a tent, where she was held against her will, beaten, and sexually assaulted for more than 15 hours prior before escaping.

Edwards was released from custody with several court-imposed conditions and is now wanted for breaching those conditions.

Edwards also failed to report to her bail supervisor back in June, prompting a police search, before she was found.

Edwards is about 5’3″ tall and 125 pounds. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and a “Wahkesh” tattoo on her neck.

Anyone who sees Edwards, or knows her whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately.
