Head-on crash in Massey Tunnel snarls morning traffic

RICHMOND (NEWS 1130) – A serious crash that completely shut down the Massey Tunnel created a commuting mess Wednesday morning.
Southbound traffic is now getting through, and northbound lanes have since reopened, however, heavy volume in the area is expected to take some time to ease.

Callers at the scene say the head-on collision happened around midnight in the southbound lanes as crews had the northbound lanes closed for maintenance.
Footage from the scene shows two vehicles completely destroyed.
