About Dean
I love my job. OK, I could do without the 1:30am wake-up call but otherwise being the producer of the CityNews Vancouver morning radio show is a blast. I work with people who are passionate about what they do and dedicated to their craft. You can't ask for anything more.
So how did I get here? I started at CityNews Vancouver in 2001 after working at CJOR in the South Okanagan and CFCP in Courtenay. I remember listening to CityNews Vancouver's coverage of the September 11th attacks on my day off and knew I had made the right choice. It was compelling, engaging and informative. I try to bring those three elements to the Morning Show every day.
Personally, I am a married father-of-three who lives south of the Fraser River. Yes, I commute just like you do and, yes, I feel your pain. I spend what little free time I have kayaking, training for triathlons, refereeing minor hockey, advocating for a cure for cystic fibrosis, and being the best father I can to my children and husband to my wife.
