Surrey school district reports two more cases of COVID-19

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – There are more cases of COVID-19 being reported at schools in Surrey, just days after classes resumed amid the pandemic.
The latest cases were reported at William Watson Elementary and Sullivan Heights Secondary.
According to Fraser Health, both individuals were at the schools on Thursday of last week.
“Public health considers this a low risk contact,” Surrey’s superintendent of schools, Jordan Tinney, says in a letter to the Sullivan Heights Secondary community.

The case at William Watson Elementary is also considered low risk. Fraser Health says contact tracing is underway at both schools.
“If you do not receive a phone call or letter, please continue to attend school and monitor for symptoms compatible with COVID-19 as per our school policy,” Tinney adds.
A total of seven cases of COVID-19 have now been reported at schools in the Fraser Health district. Most students returned to class on Thursday and Friday of last week.
