Langley chapel fined for violating provincial COVID-19 health orders

Langley (NEWS 1130) — Langley RCMP say they issued a $2,300 ticket to a Langley church for violating B.C.’s COVID-19 rules.
More than a week after the province banned religious gatherings to slow the spread of COVID-19 the Riverside Calvary Chapel at 201 Street and 96 Avenue continued hosting in-person services Sunday.

Corporal Holly Largy with the RCMP explains, officers visited the church twice before noon but only issued a ticket during their first visit where the congregation refused to disperse.
“The second time we attended, they were conducting what appeared to be an online service. So no ticket was issued the second time.”
