WHISTLER (NEWS 1130) — American actress and comedian Chelsea Handler and her two pups came to find the snow and found it in B.C.’s very own Whistler. But since her visit up north, Handler has had to respond to those doubting why she could visit amid COVID travel restrictions.

On Monday, Handler posted a video on Instagram as part of her story in which she lamented that she was under quarantine for 14 days and would be stuck watching people ski during that time.

Since it wasn’t clear if Handler was in the province for business, a NEWS 1130 listener vocalized his concerns that Handler was violating rules prohibiting optional travel to our country during the pandemic.

But on Tuesday, she took to Instagram again to respond.

“Getting a lot of very violent messages, and I would like everyone to know that I am indeed quarantining for the full 14 days and happy to do it,” she explains to followers.

Handler also assures fans – and inquiring members of the media – it’s all above board.

“So don’t think I’m bending rules. I’m not. I’m quarantining. And I’m here for work on top of it.”

In B.C., unless entertainers are shooting a film or TV show or have a special exemption, travel restrictions apply.
