Sex worker assaulted in Surrey’s Kwantlen Park

SURREY (NEWS 1130) – Mounties are out with a warning after a woman was sexually assaulted in Kwantlen Park this week.

RCMP say the victim, who is a sex worker, met a man near 132 St. and 105 Ave. shortly before 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

They then walked to the Newton park, located near 132 St. and 104 Ave. When they arrived at the park, Mounties say the man took out a weapon and sexually assaulted the woman. He ran away before police could get there.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Mounties believe there were other people in the area at the time of the attack, and are urging anyone with information to reach out to them.

The suspect is described as a light-skinned man with dark hair with a fade-style cut. He is believed to be in his mid-20s with a slim build. He was wearing dark clothing at the time.

Police say sex workers in the city have been told about the attack and warned to be extra careful.
