Lemonade: Q1 Earnings Snapshot

NEW YORK (AP) _ Lemonade, Inc. (LMND) on Tuesday reported a loss of $49 million in its first quarter.

The New York-based company said it had a loss of 81 cents per share.

The results missed Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for a loss of 76 cents per share.

The company posted revenue of $23.5 million in the period, beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $22.1 million.

For the current quarter ending in July, Lemonade said it expects revenue in the range of $26 million to $27 million.

The company expects full-year revenue in the range of $117 million to $120 million.

Lemonade shares have fallen 40% since the beginning of the year.
