DELTA (NEWS 1130) – People heading to Vancouver Island for the long weekend can get immunized against COVID-19 on the way.
A “vaccine bus” will be at the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal on Friday. Passengers can hop on to get their first or second dose and then continue their way onto the ferry.
You won’t need an appointment to get a shot on one the brightly-coloured transit bus. It’s also air-conditioned, in an effort to offer a cool and comfortable location.
All passengers aged 12 and up are welcome to get inoculated, including those without a personal health number and those who don’t live in B.C.

The effort is part of the province’s “Vax for B.C.” campaign, with a particular focus on people who haven’t received any vaccine doses yet. As of Thursday, 64.1 per cent of eligible British Columbians are fully vaccinated, but 19 per cent still haven’t received any shots against COVID-19.
The “vaccine bus” has already made stops in White Rock, Aldergrove, and Fort Langley.
